The Institute of Monitoring and Evaluation Practitioners (IMEP) is pleased to announce a Call for Associate Editors and Reviewers for its forthcoming peer-reviewed journal, the Journal of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (JMEL–IMEP).

JMEL–IMEP is currently being planned and established as an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing high-quality scholarship and practice in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) across public, private, development, and humanitarian sectors. The journal will serve as a platform for rigorous research, applied evaluations, methodological innovation, and evidence-informed policy and practice, with a strong focus on Africa and the Global South while welcoming global contributions.

As part of this foundational phase, IMEP invites experienced academics, researchers, and practitioners to apply to serve as Associate Editors and/or Peer Reviewers. These roles are voluntary professional service positions and are critical to ensuring the quality, integrity, and relevance of the journal’s editorial and peer-review processes.

Associate Editors and Reviewers will contribute by supporting manuscript review, upholding ethical and quality standards, and strengthening JMEL–IMEP as a credible outlet for MEL knowledge. In recognition of their service, appointed editors and reviewers will receive official certificates of service and formal citation/acknowledgement in the journal and on IMEP platforms.

Applications are invited across a wide range of M&E application domains, including public sector and governance, development and NGO programmes, health, education, environment and climate change, gender and social inclusion, private sector and performance evaluation, infrastructure and energy, agriculture and rural development, humanitarian action and resilience, digital systems and technology evaluation, and legal, regulatory and justice systems evaluation.

Qualified individuals may apply to serve as an Associate Editor, a Peer Reviewer, or both, subject to eligibility and selection.
