The Institute of Monitoring and Evaluation Practitioners (IMEP) has announced a comprehensive set of membership reforms aimed at strengthening professional organization, improving member engagement, and enhancing the overall value of IMEP membership.
The reforms, which apply to all existing members, form part of IMEP’s broader institutional strengthening agenda and are designed to align the Institute with best practices in professional governance, accountability, and continuous professional development.
Strengthened Sub-Group Engagement
Under the new structure, all members will be required to belong to at least one and no more than two IMEP Sub-Groups, based on their professional interests and areas of practice. These sub-groups will serve as key platforms for technical exchange, peer learning, collaboration, and specialized professional engagement within the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) community.
Revised Professional Level Placement
IMEP has also introduced a structured professional level placement system. Existing members will be required to apply for placement into appropriate professional levels in line with the revised IMEP professional framework. Applications will be opened quarterly, with placement decisions guided by approved criteria for each level, ensuring transparency and fairness in professional recognition.
Waiver of Outstanding Dues and Revalidation
In a move welcomed by members, all outstanding membership dues up to December 2025 have been waived. This waiver will support a comprehensive re-registration and revalidation exercise, allowing IMEP to update its membership records and transition smoothly into the new structure.
2026 Membership Dues and Financial Transparency
For the 2026 membership year, annual dues have been set at GHC 600, with flexible payment options allowing members to pay quarterly, half-yearly, or annually. To further promote transparency and accountability, IMEP will now provide quarterly membership statements to all members, detailing dues and financial status.
Improved Communication Channels
To enhance communication efficiency, the Institute will consolidate its existing WhatsApp platforms into two main groups: one dedicated to membership matters and official Institute communications, and another focused on IMEP activities, programmes, and events.
New Membership ID Cards and Certificates
As part of the reforms, IMEP is introducing new official membership ID cards and certificates. Existing members will be required to pay a one-time fee of GHC 100 to process these credentials, which will serve as official proof of active membership.
Mandatory Registration for Existing Members
All existing members are required to complete an online registration form to support the revalidation process and participation in upcoming IMEP activities.
